A bohemian bar, that serves nice appetizers and cold beer!
It´s always full and it´s really a Happy Hour hit in Vila Madalena!!
Waiters are nice and the beer is rapidly replaced, but food service wasn´t as fast...

When you think underground, what´s the first thing that  comes to your mind?
It should be Subastor!
Well... it´s underground if you think as an alternative place... most people are well dressed and drinks are their special hit!
You get in Astor, and go downstairs for a total different environment!!
When we went there, we bought a bottle of something and they made sure to surprise us with different drinks every time we asked for new ones!! =)

This is far far away from being a touristic place.
Not fancy AT ALL!!

The only expectation you can have is to listen to good samba!! And this, they do really well!!

Feijoada and national beer are good choices!

Cheap, local and good music!!

Tip? Arrive early or there´ll be no tables! We got there at 2/3pm and didn't leave before 11pm.

They have beer, and good ones!!
The owners do know about beer and have always given us good tips.

This place is on my top 10 list.
Food is tasty and what I like best: you can see the tapas before you order them, right at the balcony!
They have red and white wine sangria, papas diabolicas and really good churros con chocolate.
Cocido is not on the menu, but it´s also on the balcony - really good!
It´s Augusta, so you can see people from all different styles! Young and old, suited or loose. 2 blocks away from Av. Paulista!
Try to arrive early, it opens at 5; but after 9 its crowded!

As I´ve said before, downtown Sao Paulo is really nice, and deserves a stop!

On saturdays this very nice place - in front of the stock market - serves really good feijoada with an awesome live music (Samba & Chorinho)

If it´s sunny we sit outside, but if you want to listen to the music and see them playing inside is even more beautiful than outside.

Friday night they also happy a nice Happy Hour!

If you like motorcycles this is just the place for you!!

First of all this place is a motorcycle repair shop, but it also has pool table, bar, great music and sports on tv!


For the girls good news it that it´s just 3 blocks away from a HUGE shoe store (ShoeStock).


We usually go there after shoe shopping, because sandwiches are just great!! =)

The whole decoration goes along with the theme.

It is on Av. Augusta - known by it´s table bars and alternative places.

If you know me, you know I´m not the alternative type of person... but this is a nice spot to hang out and have a beer

It´s an Italian Tavola, which for me is a looot better than a Cantina.

Food is good, the atmosphere is a lot better and not as loud as cantinas!!

We liked the music, the drinks and the attention we received from the waiters.

Good for happy hours and finger food.

We stopped here by accident, and I gotta say:

What a nice accident!! =)

The deal about this place is that its sorrounded by its counter!

Really good food (we ordered 1 sanduich - that we asked to be cut as appetizer) and 2 or 3 different finger foods.

Totally recomend for a nice happy hour.

There are 4 addresses to go to Bar do Juarez, but this is the one we used to go.
Their website has all of them (of course).

Living 4 blocks away from this temptation aint easy! Lol Picanha na chapa is the house's best and most ordered dish!
Chopp Brahma goes well with everything in there!

A nice place, not overpriced, and good for trying Brazilian Happy Hours! =P

Supposely an Australian Pub. As I´ve never been there, I dont even know if that exists lol

But one thing I can tell ya - it´s a cool spot, like a good pub, with live music.

One important tip: If you go, it´s better to arrive untill 10/10:30 pm if you dont have a table. This place has lines outside it past 12.

My friends say it´s good for flerting...

This is a very "low profile" place. Usually not crowded, good to go with a few friends to listen to some music.

If the music if good or bad, depends on the agenda - but I have to say: I´ve been lucky! =)

It´s a place you´d never find without somebody telling you to go there.. I´ve trusted someone, and you gotta do the same!

But, remember: low profile!

I came to this place because they told me that they had a great white beans feijoada with seafood.

And as a good surprise, when we got there I found out that they have a whole menu just for beers!!

Not one of those fancy stops; but for sure a great stop if you like beers!!

And... it´s right accross the street from Gas Wash (in case you like big boys bikes) =)

Elected few times as one of the best spots to flert, this bar also has a great decoration, inspired on the northeast of Brazil.

If you like caipirinhas, theirs come w a popsico on it! =)

For appetizers we asked pastel and bolinho de mandioca - and they were both pretty good.

What made me super happy there?? They have Salsa Chipotle!!!

This is on my top favorites!
There are 2 in Sao Paulo - Itaim and Vila Madalena - and Vila is my favorite... so, nothing against the other, it´s that I love the neighbourhood.

Last time I went there, they had live music on a tuesday night.

Best food? Carne Seca com Manteiga de garrafa e Mandioca. (i did go back on the same week to eat it again!)

Best drink? If you are a caipirinha lover, you might try one of theirs! They taste really good!!

If you´ve been in Brazil, you know what Chopp means. And this bar has a great one!

Waiters are friendly and willing to help (Perhaps I was really lucky... lol)

The spot is just one of the best in Sao Paulo - Vila Madalena. If you go right you´ll find Bar Samba with a live Samba band, if you go down Aspicuelta St. you´ll find tons of other hot spots.

My tip?? You´ll need at least a month to know few of the good spots in Vila Madalena, this one is worth the visit. I loved their Caldinho de Feijão

Can´t believe I hadn´t posted on this before.

This is the kind of places that if you are visiting Sao Paulo you just must go!No matter what you like to eat or drink – they do have a nice restaurant w; good food and great drinks. You can also just have a beer, chill out and appreciate the view!

And… what a great view!!

Located on the top of Unique Hotel it has a great view of Sao Paulo. It reminds me of my favorite place in Monterrey – Riviera.

Radio Cafe

In front off All Black and a block away from Ministro, this place has great blues & jazz playing all the time.
The place is nice, the appetizer are good – we tried carpaccio and mussarela de bufala – and they do have Heineken Chopp.
A nice spot for a Happy Hour w/ friends.
TIP - On thursdays there´s a great group playing really good jazz!!

Wall Street Bar

This place is a spot to go for fun.
Inspired on the Wall Street Stock Market, all the foods and drinks go up and down all night.

The bar is quite big (2 or 3 floors) but the average age is quite low.
If you have a nice group I'd say it's a fun place to go!!

When we go we ask to go to the waiting place - where they have a pool table! =)

So, try it out and check how good you can do while drinking and playing w/ the "stocks".
